But you, be strong and do not lose courage, for there is reward for your work. Click To Tweet 2 Chronicles 15:7
Trying new things can be hard – keep fighting for the greater cause!
Since starting TheLionWithin.Us, I’ve had wonderful opportunities to coach others and help them achieve their personal financial goals. During this time I’ve ran into topics and scenarios that are new to me so I decided to begin a new journey to strengthen my coaching abilities. I took the plunge and started a Certified Financial Planner self-paced course at NC State University. Here is some information to give context. College was almost 20 years ago, my work schedule is demanding, the family calendar and making time with kids is a priority so why should I start such a demanding journey?
The answer is simple – when God clearly calls you the only thing to do is take action.
That doesn’t mean it’s not scary though. As 2 Chronicles 15:7 reminds us that we have to be strong and not lose courage. That sounds great right…until the 7 text books come in, and the first lessons are like Greek. As a matter of fact the first mid-term took several attempts to pass. Why am I telling you all this. It may even make some of you question my ability as a coach. The primary reason I’m sharing this is to encourage you.
This training offers a great opportunity to serve others at levels only dreamt about now. It’s naïve to think it would be an easy journey. Satan has a field day when new topics take time to master but you know what, God has called me down this path so I’m digging my heels in and pushing forward. Think about it – we grow the most during times of adversity and challenge. The difficult times in life are crucial to molding us into the people God desires us to be.
If you’re facing struggles in your journey take some time to step back and breathe.
You can do this and if you are called you have to keep pushing. Know that you are not in the journey alone. I hope you find these words encouraging and remember that FMG is designed to help everyone achieve the goals they have…the bigger the better! Take control today and remember to be strong and do not lose courage!
