The verse of the week. This week we’re going to be on Matthew. Okay so, matthew, chapter 24, only looking at one verse, verse 36. It says this, but concerning that day and hour, no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the sun, but the Father only. So, guys, we’re going to really unpack this one verse, see how we can simplify and apply it to our life and just start walking this out.

So, first thing, we need to know, like always each spiritual kickoff, where’s Matthew? You need to know where the gospel Matthew is. Okay, so that is actually the very first gospel of the New Testament. So you’ll flip through the Old Testament. Then you usually get to a blank page and something like that and just say New Testament, that represents a little over 400 years, and then you get right into the gospel of Matthew.

That was one of Jesus’ disciples, okay, so flip over to chapter 24 and that’s where we’ll be. So that’s to kind of get us set about a word we’ll be talking about Now what Jesus is doing right here. He’s really answering a question from the disciples. So if you go back to, i got my Bible right here Matthew 24, chapter verse 3, he says as he was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately saying tell us, when will we, when will these things happen and what will be the sign of your coming in the end of the age? So that was the question they posed to him, right? So you got to remember. These guys were hanging out with Jesus, they were rolling with him for over three years. They were seeing him perform all these miracles, all these things were happening. They had the Holy Spirit, but they had all these incredible things happening. He gave them abilities to do certain things themselves and then they wanted those. As we’re getting here towards the end of the gospel, all right, tell us some of these things. When will these things happen? We believe in you, lord. And so the answers was kind of interesting, actually, when we started seeing how he answered about the signs of his coming. He gave a few illustrations of a big tree that’s back to days of Noah. He talks about being too in the field and one’s there and one isn’t, and ultimately he gets to this verse right here that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven nor the sun, but the Father only. So it’s a really interesting point in the gospel.

When Jesus is making this, he’s addressing their question, and he voluntarily did not exercise his divine attribute of total omniscience while here on earth. He didn’t do that, okay, because he was. Basically. He surrendered that omnipresence and submitted to the limits of time and space. When he took on one of these things, right When he became man, he was no longer in heaven, but he was still fully God. We need to remember this. We have to remember that Jesus, the deity of heaven, fully man, fully God. So yeah, 100% man, 100% God, all in one.

And that’s hard, that’s hard to wrap our heads around. I totally get it, guys, but ultimately, what Jesus is saying right here is only to Father knows, only to Father knows. And how thankful are we for that? I mean, i don’t know about you, but I don’t want you walking around knowing when the end of times it will be, or when my last day is going to be my last day, maybe today. I don’t want to know it, though You know what we need.

I think, as Christians, we need to lean into that more and just trust his timing more. That’s too many times we try to force things on our own time. I totally get it. You’ve heard it. You guys heard me say before God’s timing is perfect.

He’s just never early. He very rarely is ever early. This timing is perfect, though, and usually when you have that Captain Hot Sight going on and we look back and we see what has happened, that’s where we can see his timing in action, right. So you just have to remember that, guys, the day in time, no one’s going to know, not even the angels of heaven, not even the Son, but only to Father. So just do what you can today to make the most of a gift that has given to you. That is today, right Now.

We’re not saying don’t plan for the future. Sure, you can make all your plans that you want to, but ultimately, god’s plans are going to prevail, and Jesus is just making these very clear-to-disciples right here. Look, look, guys, you need to trust me, and the timing that’s not going to be revealed to you. You just need to do what you’re called to do, be obedient, and if you do that, guys, that’s walking in faith. We have to remember faith. What is that? That is the assurance of things, the conviction. Faith right here, the conviction of things, so forth, and the assurance of things not seen. So now, are you going to be a man who walks by faith? That means you’re gonna have conviction of things not seen right right here.

All you guys listen pretty sure nobody here is actually seen Jesus right yet and seen him. Do you believe it? That’s the ultimate question you have to ask. Am I will do I truly believe? Do I believe that Jesus is a great teacher? Was he a great moral person who taught us all these wonderful things? or do I believe that he’s the son of God? That’s the question you guys start asking yourself. Guys, if you start the answers of that question, that means everything, because that changes everything.

Okay, so the to be a Christian man We are here each and every day, pick up our cross to follow him that takes faith, that takes endurance, that takes perseverance and that’s not easy. And the world’s gonna say what are you doing? You’re talking about your father, something that was written in a book over 2,000 years ago. We have to be ready to defend it right at any moment and say, yes, absolutely, i will stand on this word from two dozen years ago because it’s it’s the in there word of God, and this is true, and all the things in the world out there, all the false things that exist, i know one thing this is the truth and I’m gonna stand on that, and that’s all that matters the timing. I will trust God, his timing, because his timing is ultimately perfect.

My timings, terrible. My timing Anytime I ever tried to do something on my own time. He’s trying to force us square-panging around. Oh, does it work? Doesn’t work, and that’s often what God has to check me. Don’t get me back in alignment. Make sure I understand who’s in charge here, and I don’t want to be in charge, guy, he is. That’s not what it’s about being a leader. It’s not about always being in charge, but it is about Understanding the direction that we’re going and knowing what we’re following. You better be following the Lordship of Jesus and being obedient to what the Spirit is telling me. So maybe, maybe you’re headed to work today when you’re listening right now.

You have a decision back right now, when you get to work, are you gonna trust that, whatever God puts in your way, you go handle it in a way that he would have, or you go show up the work? I just do to check the boxes and goes right today and and nobody knows any difference whether or not you’re a Christian or not. That happens all the time as we separate working and And our faith. That can’t happen because we never know when times gonna come.

we do not know. So your opportunity, your best opportunity by far To make an impact for the kingdom, is wherever you’re spending the most time And we spend a lot of time in our careers, a lot of time at work. You better make sure you’re doing what you can at work to point as many people as you can to goodness of the gospel, because the reality is, fellas, we don’t know his time. He’s very clear right here, matthew 24 at the timing is going to be Mystery. We don’t have to worry about the wind. We just need to be focused on the who and who we’re gonna put our faith in, and that’s the Lordship of Jesus. You do that, guys. That’s when you can start on me. She’s allowed in. That’s what it’s all about. Right is ultimately doing what we call it a new Being obedient to spirit.

So here’s a question. I want you to think about this What mysteries lie beyond our knowledge of time? At least think about paradigm, a time. Just think about it as a horse on a line. Right, that’s time. No beginning, no end, no fretting For that line. You just drop a dot And that dot is you on that paradigm of time. So there’s so many things that are outside of that that we can’t wrap or moderate. So what mysteries outside of that really get you going, get you thinking? You spend time just pondering about it. You know whatever that is. Want it all back to God. That’s all you have to do After you’re listening to this spiritual kickoff.

You never accept the worship of Jesus Christ. You never surrender to Him. This is your opportunity, because you may be saying, well, chris, i don’t even know what this religion thinks about. Yeah, jesus sounds like a cool guy. What do I need to do? Well, it’s very simple. Very first step, you have to admit that you’re a sinner. I have to admit that you’re a sinner, that you’re not a mistake or an evil life coach. No, you’re a sinner and needless leader. A sin again. You guys hear me talk about every spiritual kickoff. Anything that separates us from God, that is a sin. Okay, so we need to understand it. You know what? I’m a sinner and needless leader.

But luckily, luckily, we have a Savior, and that is Jesus Christ. And He came, took on flesh, he taught us, he showed us all these miracles, these signs, these teachings, and then He went to Calvary, paid the ultimate penalty for our sin and died, and He did this for us Pay the penalty for sin in the world. And He was thinking of you, whoever you are listening right now. He was thinking of you. You say your name. Jesus was thinking of me. When he died, they laid him in a tomb, but, thank the Lord, we don’t serve, we don’t worship the dead man. We worship a risen Savior. That’s three days after that He rose. He rose, he lived, he walked amongst us. He showed himself to around 500 people. Then He ascended to heaven. That’s where He’s at right now. So you have to believe that Jesus is the Son of God. Yeah, the Son of God. That makes a huge difference.

Okay, then, once you do that, you just have to confess in His Lord And say you know what, jesus, i’m tired of trying to do things my way. I confess to you as my Lord and Savior. I need you to be accurate. I need you to show me. I just I fall down at your feet and I surrender. If you surrender to His Lordship, the Holy Spirit will descend. You will have the Holy Spirit within you. We call it the lion within at that moment. Then you’ll be able to have the scales removed from your eyes. You’ll be able to see. You’ll be able to go, do things He’s called you to do. You’ll be able to have that conviction from the Holy Spirit to guide and direct you. Then you have to make a decision Are you going to be obedient to do He tells you to do? That’s all you gotta do.

So if you’re ready to accept Jesus as your savior and I pray you are let’s pray to Him. So, my Father, just thank you so much for today, just for being able to have the Spirit kick off, or sharing your word with others, for the man or woman who’s listening right now, who’s accepting you as their savior, or I just pray. Blessings upon them. I pray that you give them peace. I pray you give them assurance And just God and direct them. I pray you put people in their path that will be able to help them on their new journey. It’s walking in the light As they just in this moment, stepped out of the darkness. We praise you, we give you all the honor and glory. We just thank you, god, all you do for us. We pray all this according to your will and Christ’s name, amen. All right, so a few just accepted Jesus as your savior.
