Trusting God to Illuminate Your Path
Have you ever tried to use your cell phone light to see far in the dark? I find that they work pretty well to see what is immediately around my feet but that’s about it. For instance I use mine each morning on the farm as it is helpful to show me what’s right in front of me. However if I’m trying to look across the pasture I need something heavier duty.
As I reflected on Psalm 119:105 I love the tie to light for each scenario. The lamp, much like my cell phone, is what I need right there at the moment. For me I equate that to those flare prayers we all send up in a time of need. God hears each and every one of those and the Spirit guides us in those moments.
The second part of that verse makes me think of the longer play that is in place. Maybe that’s the 3, 5 or 10 year path and that’s where things tend to get fuzzy. What strikes me as interesting is that both the immediate and the long term are illuminated by the same source.
I’ve found, and my prayer is that you do as well, by following and seeking God in every decision you make He shows you what immediate steps He desires and by moving in that direction you are indeed walking on His path as well. It’s the cell phone and the flood light all in one! So, whether you’re navigating the immediate challenges or seeking clarity for the future, remember—His Word will always be enough to light the way. Keep trusting, keep walking, and keep your eyes on the One who never fails to guide.
