Transforming Your Mindset Through Romans 12:2
There is a saying in engineering that goes – “garbage in garbage out”. That directly ties to the type of expected outcomes based on the data provided on the front end. Upon reflecting on that idea there seems to be a distinct parallel that could be useful as we think about the type of items we consume daily. It’s relatively straight forward thinking as we would never expect to have a desired output if the inputs are not aligned.
Think about it this way, let’s say that in elementary school you struggled with long division. If you just broke out in a cold sweat by the mention of long division hang in there. During the time of learning long division perhaps your grades were subpar. Homework, quizzes and tests all resulted in C and D marks. It would be expected that when the quarterly report card goes home that the overall grade would reflect those scores. Yet, when it comes to the mind we get frustrated when we respond harshly or are unable to shake the surrounding thoughts of darkness and all along fail to pay attention to the negative inputs that we are inserting that fuel our thinking.
Romans 12:2 is arguably one of those verses that needs to be reaffirmed daily if we desire to get in the driver’s seat and begin transforming our mindset by unleashing the power of God’s Word in our lives.
