Now I know—this is a weekly Christian reflection. But hang with me for a second.
Those movies portray something our world is desperate for: defense against injustice and evil.
The way Denzel’s character meticulously analyzes a situation and then takes decisive, righteous action? I’m hooked every time (yes, they’re absolutely rewatchable—but not with the kids around).
What strikes me is how often the injustice he confronts happens right in his own backyard. Sometimes he travels, sure—but more often than not, the battle comes to him.
And I believe that’s a powerful reflection of our own reality.
Injustice isn’t always out there somewhere—it’s right here. In our schools. Our churches. Our communities. And it’s going to keep spreading until strong, God-fearing men decide enough is enough and step into the gap.
Just look around most churches. Who’s leading the classrooms? Organizing the events? Volunteering week in and week out? Women. Praise God for them—they’ve been holding the line.
But where are the men?
As someone who’s been in kids ministry for years, I’ve seen it firsthand. Too many guys dismiss serving in church as “not masculine enough” or assume women are just better suited for it. Sure, moms often thrive in the nursery—but outside of that, our sons need to see men rise up and boldly demonstrate what it looks like to follow Jesus with strength and conviction.
Here’s the truth:
Church isn’t just for women and children.
It’s for builders, protectors, and warriors in the faith.
And if you’re wondering why so many young men walk away from church during their teenage years—it’s often because they look around and don’t see themselves represented. They see women teaching, planning, leading… and that whispers, “This isn’t your space.”
That has to change.
We don’t need more flashy “men’s events” that come and go—we need consistent presence. Week after week. Shoulder to shoulder. Eye to eye. Iron sharpening iron. Because real impact doesn’t come from the occasional gathering—it comes from daily faithfulness and relational discipleship.
So here’s your challenge:
If you see this gap—fill it.
Make the call. Send the text. Step into the arena.
Start showing up. Serve. Lead. Disciple. Be seen.
Let the next generation of boys see with their own eyes what it looks like when a man lives under the authority of the Father and obeys whatever He says—no matter the cost.
Because the war is already at your doorstep.
And brother—you were made for battle.
