It’s not too hard when life is smooth…
When your marriage feels aligned, the kids are listening, the bank account looks strong, and the doctor gives you a clean bill of health.
But what about when the skies turn grey? When your spouse and you are at odds, the toddler melts down, the bills stack higher than the paycheck, or an ambulance shows up in your driveway?
Standing firm in those moments feels impossible. And yet—that’s when the most growth happens. Every storm forces a choice: am I pushing through on my own strength, or am I relying fully on God?
Now don’t get it twisted—relying on God doesn’t mean sitting back and doing nothing. Scripture doesn’t say “sit down.” It says stand firm. That’s action. That’s resolve. Standing is a declaration that you’re in the fight, planted on truth, unwilling to fold.
Here’s the problem: too many men are sitting down with their hands in their pockets, blaming systems, circumstances, or their past for every setback. That’s not standing—that’s surrender.
But when men stand firm in the Spirit—when they choose obedience and conviction—everything changes. Their courage sparks courage. Their faith strengthens others.
So if you’re one of the few standing firm right now—keep going. Be encouraged. You’re not alone. And if you’re wavering, it’s time to rise.
There’s no safer place to plant your feet than on God’s Word. Stand firm. The world needs to see it.
