A Hard Look at a Distorted Reality
I recently heard a story about a young woman who slept with 100 men in 24 hours, and my heart broke for her. Maybe being a girl dad has softened me, but I immediately thought about how she has no idea how special and unique God made her.
What she rationalized as normal behavior is a lie straight from the pits of hell, and it’s devastating. How did the enemy become so successful at corrupting what God created as the most intimate connection between a husband and wife? It’s heartbreaking to see this distortion defended and normalized by grown adults.
I often talk to men who are struggling with pornography, and many find encouragement simply by bringing it into the light. I think of it like beachball theology—if you’ve ever tried to hold a beach ball underwater, it works for a while. But eventually, you slip, a wave comes, or you get tired, and the ball shoots right back into your face. Hiding sins like indulging in porn is the same.
This Weekly Roar ends differently. If you’re struggling with pornography, reply with the word “Beachball.” Your email will remain confidential. By sending it, you’re taking a step from darkness into light, and that’s worth celebrating!
