Statement of Faith
The Lion Within Us is committed to empowering Christian men to become the leaders God intends them to be. We uphold the Bible as the inspired, infallible Word of God, our ultimate foundation, guide, and authority in all aspects of life and faith (2 Timothy 3:16; Psalm 119:105). Our mission is to honor the Lordship of Jesus Christ and encourage spiritual growth in others.
Core Beliefs
- The Trinity: We believe in one God who exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14).
- Jesus Christ: We affirm that Jesus is God’s only Son, both fully divine and fully human. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, rose from the dead three days later, ascended to heaven, and will return to reign as King of kings and Lord of lords (1 Corinthians 15:1-8; John 3:16; Matthew 1:23; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18).
- Salvation: All people have inherent worth as God’s creation but have sinned and fall short of His glory. We receive forgiveness and eternal life solely through faith in Jesus Christ, by grace, through repentance and trust in Him as Savior and Lord (Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 10:9; Acts 2:38).
- The Holy Spirit: We believe the Holy Spirit is God’s presence, empowering and guiding believers, and bestowing spiritual gifts for the edification of the Church and the advancement of God’s Kingdom (John 14:26; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11).
- The Bible: The Bible is God’s inspired and authoritative Word, revealing His nature and His will. It illuminates our path and directs our lives (Psalm 119:105; Hebrews 4:12; 2 Timothy 3:16).
- The Church: The Church, as the body of Christ, is united in purpose to share the gospel, serve those in need, and equip believers for godly living. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, the Church evangelizes the lost and edifies the faithful (Ephesians 4:1-16; Matthew 28:18-20; 1 Corinthians 12:27).
- Christian Living: Believers are called to pursue holiness and reflect Christ in all aspects of life, continually transformed into His likeness (Romans 12:1-2; 1 Peter 1:15-16).
- The Second Coming: We eagerly anticipate Jesus Christ’s return to establish His eternal Kingdom, inspiring us to live faithfully, share the gospel, and prepare for His glorious return (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 22:12-13).
- Marriage and Family: We affirm that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman and that families serve as a primary avenue for discipleship and reflecting God’s love (Genesis 2:24; Ephesians 5:22-33; Deuteronomy 6:6-9).
