Welcome to the line with Anna’s a podcast serving Christian man who a hungry to be the leaders. They are predestined to be. I’m your host, Chris Granger. Let’s jump in. All right guys. This week, it was a heavy week. I get it. Lions and anxiety. We talked a lot about first Peter five, seven. Casting all your anxiety on him because he cares for you this week.
It was a hard episode for me to bring, I’ll be honest with you guys. I’ll reveal it a lot. I was very vulnerable. I opened up there, not sure what kind of feedback we’re going to get on that episode, but you know what? I did it because I think this is a topic that we need to lean into. And as leaders, as Christian men, we need to accept it.
Look, there is a lot of stress out. Here’s it is anxiety is going to hit us. And if we can band together as brothers, we can do great things. We can really help each other, but we can’t suppress. We need to lean in when need to help each other. Okay. I’m not going to go recap the entire episode, but I do want to go through those 10 tips real quick from a courage mint, for anxiety, for lions that are dealing with anxiety first and foremost, number one, acknowledge it.
Remember you have to acknowledge it. Number two, remember tacks are temporary. They’re not going to last forever. Number three, be open to him. It’s so important to be open for help. Number four, recognize your triggers and manage them out. Number five, do not be ashamed or hide this from your wife. There’s nothing to be ashamed of guys.
Number six, breathe. Remember the breathing exercise that I walked through. Count to six in hold. Breathe out. Count to six. That really does help. Okay. Number seven visualize your safe place. I know that’s a silly one. I probably lost some guys on that one. That’s okay. It does work once you figure out that if that’s a tool you’ll be gone there, number eight, recognized that fight or flight is real.
Okay. And either one of them can be used as you’re dealing with anxiety, but just understand that that’s out there. Number nine, we talked about the armor of God and actually using it right out of Ephesians chapter six. 10 through 20. Go read that scripture, make sure that’s in your heart. And number 10 scripture and prayer is key.
We have to keep that in mind, go to the scriptures, have in your heart, have your Bible at, on the go ready at all times. I mean, really your Bible should be the most wore out book you have. Period. Mons is serverless. Amazing. Thanks happen. That’s okay. Get multiple Bibles. So guys use that scripture go to prayer.
It’s what Jesus did. And if it’s good enough for Jesus, you know what? That’s good enough for me. So now for our fun Friday, I’m going to give you some health tip, a wealth TIF, and a self tips. So from a health standpoint, first of all, I just want to say one thing, mental health is real. So for health, we talk about mind and body.
I want to talk about the mind for a second. That is a real. And mental health is something to not laugh at. You’re not alone. Okay. Take time. Talk to your doctor, talk to counselors. They can be great to help you heal to help you fix issues that are maybe were in the past. Cause you don’t have to go about this alone.
There are a lot of good solid Christian counselors out there that can help you deal with things biblically. So take action because that’s a manly thing. Okay. So from a health standpoint this week, that’s what you remember mental health. That’s a real deal. Okay. Wealth tip. I want you to understand your insurance.
I know that sounds crazy, but understand it and evaluate it for HSA. That’s a health savings account is an option for you for you and your family. Okay? Because you need to understand the copayments. What doctors are in your network, what outside of your network, what all those cost factors look like. You need to really get your handle around it from a will standpoint around the insurance costs.
Now, HSA plans often are tied to how to defeat. Okay. So you need to understand what those, what those options look like too, and how the, from a financial standpoint, how that can impact you. So we can, there’s a lot about HSS, but I really want you to start thinking about that and re spend some time to understand what your health insurance looks like right now, so that if you want to go see a counselor, for instance, how would you do it?
The HSA also is a great way to build wealth. So keep that in mind, too. It’s a tax deferred type account. Yeah, wealth that it can grow over time. You can contribute to it. This is a will tip and really lean into that. Now from, from a self tip, you know, kind of go back to a little bit to the list that we talked about, but I think this is so important.
Do not hide your anxiety or your stress or your attacks from your wife. She is your partner. She needs to see this side of you guys. Okay. It’s not a weakness together. You can help each other by being vulnerable and being open. Your relationship will actually strengthen it. Will she may feel more comfortable at that point coming to you, telling you what’s going on in her life and some stressors that she has, you know what that may be areas that really bring you together as husband.
So keep that in mind, lean into that. That is really important. Do not hide it from her. Okay. There’s your tips. Mental health is real understand those insurance plans, particularly HSA do not hide this from your wife. Now, the book of the week, I really prayed a lot in this thinking about what book to throw out to you guys this week.
And I just went back to a class. Hands feet on high places. Just take us a great book. Enter Nike, think from a mental standpoint, through stress, all the different factors that come at you in life. So I really encourage you if you haven’t picked that book up yet, go check our show notes out. We’ll have that in the show notes that you can link up for a copy there, but, but hands feet on high places, this is a great book.
It’s a book you can read with your kids too. I think it’s something that they would enjoy it all right now for our fun Friday guys, you know, we like our dad jokes, so. We want the feedback on what jokes are working, what jokes aren’t. So bring it to me. No joke. Number one, I just got hospitalized due to a peek-a-boo accident.
They put me in the ICU. Okay. So use that one. I probably get a little chocolate out. The little kids. Number two, I debated a flat earth, or once he stormed off saying that he’d walk to the edge of the earth to prove me wrong. I’m sure he’ll come around when. Okay, so there you go. So that’s number one or number two, I just got hospitalized due to the peek-a-boo accident.
They put me in the ICU. Let me know if that one works. Number two, I debated a flat earth or once he stormed off saying he was going to walk to the edge of the earth to prove me wrong. I’m sure he’ll come around one day. So let me know which one of those work that a question of the week. Do you view anxiety of a weakness and who is your support?
Your wife is probably the key member of that support team, but she may need a band of brothers that you can go to. You can talk about your stress. You can talk about what’s bothering you, be there for someone else, be the guy that, that someone feels comfortable coming to you saying, you know what? I got this going on.
What do you think that shows wisdom that shows growth be the man that your brother needs you to be. Okay. Now I know it’s a big week. We talked a lot about anxiety, not necessarily a fun topic, but I think as a topic that we really need to embrace, we need to understand, we need to be able to talk about it more too, to help grow as Christian man.
Okay. So share this one guys this week. If this impacted you, please share it. Go out there, text a brother right now that Wednesday episodes, they listen to. You know what? This may be an encouragement to you and share that out and then go to the line within.us. Everything on our website is there from our coaching programs to our email group.
We want to connect with you. We want to be able to just send you some encouragement. Now give us a five-star rating, write a review that really does help that go out and unleash the lion within.
