In this episode:
Do you have your armor on today?
A Lion has to be aware of his surroundings at all times and be focused on keeping your guard up for who you allow to speak into your life. Scripture tells us to love others and at the same time be ready for battle. Trials will come and we have the strength to persevere.
Each day presents a new opportunity to build the Lion’s Den around us that will help us grow in Christ. This is not going to happen by accident. It takes intentional focus guided by the Holy Spirit to surround yourself with those that will push you to grow and that truly have your back. Look at your phone and see who are the last 5 people you texted – are they pulling you closer to Christ or further away?
Ethan talked about perseverance and as a young man, because he's standing with the Lord and Satan does not like that. And it's our job as lions to make sure that when our brothers fall, we pick them right up and we help them. Click To TweetChris Grainger
He had a great conversation talking about perseverance and mentorship. The importance of that. We had a lot of scripture. I’m going to go over it real quickly. Cause I do want to make sure you get this cemented in your brain. First Corinthians 1533, do not be misled, bad company corrupts, good character James, one, two through four, consider it pure joy.
My brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance and let press appearance finish this work. So you may be mature and complete. Not lacking anything. He also talked about Hebrews and chapter 10, verse 36. You need to press a veer so that when you have done the will of God, you receive what he has promised.
And the last one we talked about was Galatians six verse nine. Let us not become weary in doing. For at the proper time, we will reap a harvest. If we do not give up. And guys, I don’t know about you, those four verses they’re so impactful. There are a lot of power in those verses. There’s a lot of strength.
There’s a lot of lion mindset and those four verses suspend some time with them, write them down, highlight them in your Bible, put them in your phone and the app that Ethan was talking about his notes, so he can pull it up, referenced it all. You know, I really remember him talking about his circle. Who’s in it.
How does he make sure he’s defending the circle? Right. And keeping the right types of people inside of it. He also talked about perseverance and as a young man, he’s going to have to, because the world is going to push at him, it’s going to push back because he’s standing with the Lord and, and the world does not like that.
Satan does not like that. Satan wants this man to trip up. And it’s our job as lions to make sure that when our brothers fall, we pick them right up and we help them, you know? And then when those hyenas, when they’re, when they’re nipping at us and we’re trying to get into our lines, then we have got to cut them off.
We’ve got to help them and turn them into lions. I really think was the right to have. We can help me and grow and turn away from their bad past and be the man of God that, that they’re predestined to be, but we have to do the work. Okay. And we can’t let one hyena ruin our to him. And then the Bible reading so critical.
You have to spend that time in the word every week. Every week. Okay. So for fun Friday this week, tell you what guys I know you’ve been working hard this week. You made it is Friday. So think about this from a health standpoint, get active with your lion’s Dan. You know how to man really connect shoulder, shoulder, sweat.
It really is. That’s a great way to connect with men, you know, get out there, maybe get out, sack, go camping, whatever it is you, a lot of times, just anything outside checks my box. Right. But I think it’s important. What did Ethan say? They spent a lot time playing basketball and lifting weights. Well, imagine that their guys.
And that’s a great time to grow that group of men together. Okay. Now, wealth tip. If you’re spending time with this group of men share investing, you know, monetary type ideas with them because you’re growing together, you’re on the same path. Maybe they have some advice and some areas that can help you with your financial walk and Indian tune, because if one of your brothers is struggling financial.
You should know it and don’t let them go down without lending a hand, or at least asking them what’s wrong because they made me blind to something that’s happened and you’re close enough to them. You’ll be able to reach your hand out and say, you know what? I see, you’re struggling over here. Have you considered this?
Right? And from a well-staffed. It’s a great way to do it, you know? Cause you may be thinking about investing or looking at this stock or whatever it may be, right. Share those ideas. Cause I’ll tell you what a lot of wisdom can be found, particularly with the group of Christian men working together now from a self tip.
And this is speaking specifically to, to my Mary lions out there. Your wife needs to support your time with your lion’s den period. Now here’s the caveat. Don’t abuse this guys, you can’t be hanging out with your line’s DNA every night. You got to put some boundaries around it. Okay. You have responsibilities as a man, as a father, as a husband, but, but.
You do need this, be intentional about spending time with men that are going to get you better. They’re going to push you. They’re going to challenge you. They’re going to sharpen you and then you have to be sharp enough to sharpen them back, you know, share this with your wife. They need to encourage you.
They need to support you. If you’re being lazy, maybe they need to be the one that gives you the kick in the pants to go out there and hit the gym with your buddies. Right. Are going to run. So ladies be encouraging. Guys do not abuse that power. Okay. It’s very important. Now the book of the week, this week thought was a good book is a book that, that was referred to me from a friend, uh, on another show.
And it’s called never eat alone by Keith Ferazi. Okay. It’s a really good book. It talks about several different things that I thought that really aligned well to the lines, then the mindset, the skill set, but then when you get to section three, He talks about turning connections and to, uh, compatriots. So to me, that’s turning connections into lions.
Okay. And he even talks about connecting in a digital age. I know it’s different out there now, guys, but it’s important. So this is a good book. Check it out. It may be something that you can pick up, find some value in. Maybe go to elaborate, something like that before you buy it. Check the show notes will be some links there for you to see that exactly.
Now. You know, fun Friday. We do. We do our dead jokes. Some we’ll give you two dead jokes. Let me know which one works. Send the notes, send the comments back. Cause I want to get some feedback on these jokes. Dad joke. Number one, my wife says I’m cheap, but I’m not buying it. So there you go. There’s not there’s number one.
Number two, my books fell out a bookcase. And I only have my shelf to blame. So guys, I know they’re corny, but their dad jokes. They’re supposed to be, let me know if they get a chuckle at the dinner table, then they check the box. Okay. So had some fun with those dead joke. Number one, my wife says I’m cheap, but I’m not buying it.
Number two, my books fell out the bookcase. I only had my shelf to blame. So guys, I want to know which one works. Now question of the week. Do you have wise men that are speaking into your life as mentor? If you don’t have it, you really need to make sure you’re intentional about finding those mentors.
Okay. And guys, if you’ve enjoyed this content, share it. Text a brother. It really does help guilted align within data.
