Welcome to the lion within us, a podcast, serving Christian men who are hungry to be the leaders they’re predestined to be. I’m your host, Chris Grainger. Let’s jump in our guys this week. We’re going to be talking about his self then specifically winning at home burst. Okay, now we all need to win and we want to win at home.
So what we’re going to be the scripture for this spiritual kickoff that we’re going to get going in. Seth Corinthians three verses 16 through 18. So, so here we go. Guys, want to dig into the word, but whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the spirit and where the spirit of the Lord is.
There is freedom. My Bible also says Liberty and when, and we all who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory are being transformed into his image with ever increasing glory. Which comes from the Lord, who is the spirit beautiful scripture in second Corinthians, right there, analysts, we’re going, we’re going to unpack a little bit of what Paul’s telling us here in this, in this scripture.
And I want to start off with the veil, you know, as one very beginning, whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. So the veil that we’re talking about in this scripture, the context refers to a time when Moses. W wore that veil for at least part of his life. Okay. And he removed the veil when he spoke to the Lord and then conveyed the message, the messages in the old Testament to the Israelites.
And after he conveyed these messages to them, he would put the veil back over his face until he went to speak with the Lord. Again, if you can go to Exodus 34 verses 34 and 35, and kind of read a little bit on that story today, a little bit deeper than that. That’s your homework assignment, right? How does this apply to Christians?
Well, Christians, we do not physically cover our faces with veils, like Moses. I mean, how many churches have you walked into and, and everybody’s walking around and they’ll all be kind of weird. Right? So, I mean, we don’t have, we don’t have that veil, right. Because it’s just, we’re, we’re under different law spiritually.
Unlike the Israelites who use Moses as that conduit to God, we can speak directly to Jesus through Jesus, straight to him. And that’s the beauty of. And that sense that Jesus took both the physical and the spiritual veils away from our Christians. I mean, I was even thinking about this. Think about when, when, when Jesus died and the curtain was torn that’s avail.
That was a bit in a sense that was a veil that separated us from God that was torn. It was removed, it was taken away. And it’s just beauty. When you start thinking about these types of scriptures and, and you look back to the pre, the law versus your grace that we’re on. How they tie together, right. And veils, they had us.
And when we surrender to Christ, we are no longer hidden. We are no longer hidden. And there is beauty and not being hidden from the Lord. And the freedom that comes along with that, you know, once we give our life to Christ, we can begin that spiritual journey just as with a new startup, anything that we do, you know, we’re S we’re starting a new journey once we surrender and we’re decided to follow.
It all starts. Now think about the second part at verse, right? Where we talks about and wait to contemplate the Lord’s glory. And what does that exactly referring to, to contemplate the Lord’s glory? Not the plate, the Lord’s glory well is actually referring to the gospels, you know, to contemplate Matthew, mark, Luke and John, you know, what did, where Jesus was, was here with us.
Study it, put it in your heart. Really just sit there and let those words. Soak in the contemplated. And as we draw closer to God along our journey, it’s going to be incredible. The transformation is going to occur, which he provides once we make that decision to follow him, but we have to make that decision to follow him.
And a cool part is all this. You have that transformation that transformation comes 100% from the Lord is offering. All we have to do is turn him, deny ourselves and seek him in our daily walk. And it has to be everyday guys. This is not a Sunday thing. It’s daily, it’s easier said and done. I get it. I struggle with it too.
But with prayer, you know, time in the word, focusing on things that bring us closer to God, we’re going to see that, that, that magnificent transformation that Paul is referring to. So guys, just a beautiful piece of scripture. I really wanted to share with you for this spiritual kickoff, because I think it’s going to help you grow and pull you closer to him.
Now on Wednesday, when you come back from the meet episode, because we’re going to be talking about winning home first, I’m going to have a phenomenal game. And it’s going to be Mr. Corey Carson. He’s going to be unpacking winning at home first and what that looks like for us in areas of ourselves, our marriages, our kids, and at work, he’s going to get some phenomenal tips and make some, some really things areas you can lean into that you can implement the star winning at home, right.
And it all starts with the Lord in your relationship you have with him, that is the most important relationship you have. And if you do everything you can to love, God love others. The fruit is going to be prevalent. It’s the guys. So there’s your spiritual kickoff. Now, the question of the week, what I want you thinking about this week?
Do you strive to win at home as hard as you do at work now that makes a few of you squirm in your seat. You’re not alone. First of all, it makes me squirm a little bit too, but if we strive to win at home. Great, thanks. What happened? They will have. The Lord wants us to be successful. He is called us to leadership.
We are supposed to lead our families. So lean into it. I want to give you some advice, give you some tips to help you do that. So let this scripture soak in.
