So this week’s scripture is Second Corinthians chapter five, verse 17. Okay. Chapter five, verse 17. The. If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come. The old has gone. The new is here. So I love that scripture again. Go back and check out the spiritual kickoff. If you missed it, uh, it should be your last episode in your feed.
And check that out. Cause I spent some really good, uh, some time unpacking that. Particularly as we’re entering the new year. It’s not here yet, but maybe if, if you’re listening to this one, it drops. It’s not here, but it’s coming. And if you’re listening to this a week later, then it’s here. All right. And as we go into the new year, I’m constantly reminded by or, or you get inundated with all these resolutions and these new goals, and I get it.
It’s a great time of year to be planning and look at things and to do some analysis and things like, But there is one thing that I wanted to share with you guys today around mindset and try to help us with our mindset, and particularly the, our environment and how that affects our mindset. Okay. So what led me to this was I’m a, I’m a pretty big fan and follower.
Of Jordan Peterson. Now I get it. You know, there’s some things from a Christian world. I, I, I think a man who spends this much time talking about God. At some point the Holy Spirit is going to convict him and he’s gonna cross the finish line. But either way, uh, his two books, you know, uh, 12 Rules For, for For Life and his new book.
Beyond order 12 more rules for life, I guess There’s 24 rules if you follow Jordan. And, uh, so I had, I had an opportunity in early 2022, I think it was around March to go see him and to, he came to our area, so I went to see him. And you never know when you go see Jordan Peterson. And again, if, if you don’t know who he is.
Uh, quick, quick bio here. Uh, he is a, a, uh, he worked for, for a long time. As a clinical psychologist and professor at Harvard and the University of Toronto, but he’s most well known for his, for his books and his YouTube videos and his podcast, uh, you, you see him out there a lot in the, in the conservative, uh, arena, uh, sharing a lot of information.
So, you know, Puts a lot of great information out there, but he, he goes, he, from time to time, he he’ll do these speaking tours. So this tour came, uh, again to our area and you never know when you go to see Jordan, what, what he’s gonna talk about, right? He’s, he’s constantly talking about new and different things.
So, uh, it’s usually one of his rules from one of his books. So when we went and saw him, uh, he actually talked about Rule eight of his new book, and it’s, and the, the basic rule is this, try to make one. One room in your home as beautiful as possible. Okay. And there’s a lot of that he goes through, uh, around the mindset and, and, and how that brings clarity and peace and, and order.
Uh, and, and for him it was very interesting. I remember him talking about, uh, you know, some dark trials that he went through and he went through some really bad, some. Tragic items and how he was able to lean in and focus on that one room. And for, for him, I forget the room that he worked on, but either way, he, he was really big into art and having the, you know, some beautiful art there and how that really helped get him through that.
Right. And it may, coming home at the end of every day, he had that place he could go to. And for me, I, I left that. And, uh, came home and talked to my wife about it and I said, you know what, this really spoke to me. And I think the one room that, that I’d like to do, if it was okay with you, would be the studio where I’m sitting in right now.
And, uh, so that’s the story I’m gonna tell you guys of, of, of, of why, you know, how this studio has evolved and now why this one room? For me, it, it’s, it’s, it’s a beautiful room, but it helps me get closer to God and I’m gonna talk to you about why and all that stuff. Uh, so, so I just, I wanna unpack that with you cuz when I told my wife that she, her immediate response was, let’s do it.
I mean, that’s just the type of, of, of a girl she is. She’s amazing. She’s like, that makes sense. You’re in there the most, you spend, you know, every day, all day, a lot of time on the weekends here and there. Let’s, let’s make it somewhere that, that, you know, you can enjoy and have that clarity to do the work that God called you to do.
And I’m like, all right, let’s do it. So, uh, so let’s start where every good story starts at the beginning. Okay. So the origin, the origin rather, of the studio. So, uh, when, when I first got to the podcast, That was at the very end of 2019 to begin of 2020. Okay. This is, uh, so another, there’s another podcast is for my primary job where, where I work at, and we, we pitched the idea of doing a podcast, got got approval for that and built the, uh, you know, the, the basic things we needed to do a show, right?
A soundboard, a mic, some, some, some panels to help dampen the sound and things like that. And we recorded the first I. Maybe two or three episodes, cuz we were actually going to do the, the recordings there at our, our workplace, at our office inside. We had a little lab there, we were gonna do it. And then so we recorded the first one.
And then, uh, funny story real quick, cuz I have to tell the story every time we forgot to hit record on the first one so that that happened so that, that first we actually did twice. But these are all learning things, right? And then, Right after we were, we were, we started that March, 2020 happened. And y’all know what happened, right?
The, the whole, everything’s shut down. So we decided at that point and uh, I made a decision to talk to my wife, said, I’m just gonna bring the studio home and build it in my office, cuz I had a home office. So I was like, it won’t be that hard to turn it into a studio. So we came, brought everything. Did a lot of rearranging in the office.
Uh, got things set up and next thing you know, you know, we had soundboards set up, we had sound panels on the wall, uh, microphone was connected to the desk and the, there you go. The studio was, was off and running. And, you know, throughout, throughout that, uh, you know, we, I was able to, To learn podcasting from here.
You know, I also found it was very easy in 2020 to get a lot of guests , cause everybody was wor was working from home. So it was just an interesting time and it was also, you know, looking back, it’s always cool to look back and see how God orchestrated everything to put us in that moment so that when the pandemic happened, I had meaningful work to do and a new skill to learn.
And that was a perfect time to. Okay, so, so we, we were able to, uh, to do that and then that podcast kept going, kept going, and there was a opportunity for us to go ahead and let’s, let’s make that a video podcast. Let’s, let’s bring that video component in, so the studio then transform from the strictly an audio studio to now video as well.
So what did that mean? Okay. Well, for, for this studio that meant a green screen cuz I had, you know, Everything was, I had bookshelves, I had, uh, I had, I had bookcase rather, I had shelves, I had posters. All this stuff in the background, right? It was not conducive to like a, a, a professional environment for, for a podcast.
So we say, you know what, if we did a, a green screen, we could do a virtual background, then we could be what everyone needs to be, and then here we go. So we had a huge green screen that covered the entire room, uh, that was behind me. So next time I can know. With when, when God called me to the lion within us, uh, all of a sudden the, the authors and the, the, the research to, to be able to do the podcast and do the show, uh, I found, I found that my office had been a collection of, of, of books, like a library.
It was unbelievable. Of, of the books that we had in here that had ’em stacked up all over the place. It was like little, little mountains everywhere behind the green screen was. It was just a train wreck. It was a disaster. Books everywhere. And I mean, literally, uh, I, at some point, like I, I’d be worried like if something stacking, some books fall, nobody would ever find me.
I mean, it was, it was that bad. So just imagine I’m coming in here, the studio every day sitting down at a desk and basically I sat down, I had enough room to sit down, had enough room to stand up to do the podcast, other. It was very enclosed, right? We, we had the windows blocked cuz we needed to keep the sun out.
We, you know, so I couldn’t really see outside the windows and just working in that environment, it was tough, you know, had literally, uh, you know, the computer streamers right in front of me. There was just no room to turn or think or, or, or do anything. Okay. So it was, it was, it worked. But it definitely was not conducive to, to a lot of creative thinking or a lot of clarity cuz there was a ton of chaos.
And then that’s when I saw Jordan, uh, Peterson, when I saw him in person and he talked about that, I was like, oh, okay, this makes perfect sense. Sorry, this, this is, I can totally see why, you know, you’re an environment, your mind can affect your mindset. Okay. And again, so we. Came home after seeing him and had that conversation with Becca.
And we were good. We were opposite racist. So what we had to do was ultimately figure out what the design needed to look like. Then we needed to set a budget cuz you, you know, guy guys how I talk about all the time about me and good stewards. Uh, and, and then figuring out, alright, how do I actually do this?
Okay. So, uh, my best friend Adam Sheetz, and he’s been on our. Twice, go back and check out the episodes of Adam, uh, and his wife Abby. Uh, were able to, uh, talk with us through this and, and, and come up with these ideas. And Adam’s very creative. Abby is, is just, she’s got this touch of, of being able to decorate rooms and things like that.
So I was like, you know what? You two are perfect for a skillset that I don’t have to, to help. Let’s make this room. Let’s, let’s really transform it. And so we’re all to the races. With, with, with those two, they had a ton of ideas. Uh, Adam’s very particular and, and how he does stuff. So he had designs laid out.
I believe he laid ’em out in like, uh, something that looked like, like AutoCAD, where he, you know, he had the dimensions of the, of the, of the room, the studio. The layouts of the clo, like the closet door, the windows, everything was there and then everything started to fall in place. So Abby, she went to work and she found a, a, a beautiful desk.
Uh, that was, uh, a used desk, but it was beautifully fit perfectly for our, for what we wanted. And then from there, you know, I release control cuz I had to, cuz if you try to control everything, it is just gonna pull you down. And this was not something I was good at, you know, I was not, I’m not good. The, the artistic definitely bringing the right colors together and all that stuff.
So I had to lean into the experts, right? And I released control there. And that was very freeing for me. And I remember saying several times they would, they would ask about certain items for a studio, and I, I would just say it’s, it’s your call cuz I trust you. And I said that word over and over and over.
I trust you. You know, I, I at this point, what do you guys think? And, and that. For, for that time. That was awesome. To be able just to give that away and to know that you know that they care and that they’re gonna do a great job, but also just know what, uh, you know, I’m just going to leave it to them and understand I’m gonna step in and help where they need it.
I’m gonna give them them that creative freedom. Uh, they had the budget set. And again, that’s important. Don’t miss that part. If you, if you’re getting ready to go do a project like this or you wanna do something to really implement part of this rule that I’m talked about today, set a budget. Okay, I’ll say it again.
Set a budget. So there we go. We, we, we definitely had that. So let’s take a quick break and then we’ll jump right into how this thing actually started happening when we made that decision to move forward.
You wouldn’t jump in a boxing ring and expect to win without training, right? So why do you think you can win the battle against Satan without putting in the work for the Christian man? This is kind of set just a recap. So we, we had the, the, we went through the origin of the studio, how we got to this point. Then the pandemic happened. We, we added that video component in. Right? Uh, we talked about Jordan Peterson, that, that ultimate rule that, that he talked about, uh, making a one room in your house beautiful.
And how we did that. And then, Ultimately the design, the layout, setting that budget, and how Adam and Abby were able to, to kind of take that over. Okay. So, so from that point, we, let’s, let’s fast forward to Thanksgiving. Okay. So the plan was we’re gonna record everything up to Thanksgiving. Uh, I obviously had to get Judah here, so Judah came during that time as well.
Uh, and then we, we had Thanksgiving and then the day after, so black. Everything started, that’s when it started, started going down. So in the, in the, in the meantime, Adam and Abby were buying these, you know, the things that we needed for the studio, the hardware, uh, to make the, the podcast happen, all that stuff, as well as some of the, the things you see in my background right now.
And he was designing shells and things like that. Um, but day after Thanksgiving, had to clean this studio out and I’m gonna, That was a job that I would not want to ever have to do again, thankful that it’s done, because I never thought we would take so many books out of here. It was just unbelievable. So I have ’em all in a, in another book area now in the house.
Uh, a lot more organized now for sure. Uh, taking the green streak now is pretty liberating. That felt good to get that down, get that out the. Uh, we had studio, uh, studio lights. I forgot to tell you guys about that. So we had these big, like studio lights, like you would see, uh, if you go to to like photographer to to a photographer, they would set up for like soft lighting cuz you have to light up a green screen.
So there’s so many components that, that were there. The bookcase came out, the shells came down, the filing cabinet, cabinet went out. Uh, and then the. And that desk, y’all, it was a corner desk. It was a little wrapped around corner desk, but I’ve had that desk since college. So this, this desk was over 20 years old.
And, uh, so I wanted to take it down and, and maybe give it to someone or, or see, you know, just put it out there and see if anybody needed it. But as we were taking the screws out, it literally was falling apart. So this, this desk fell apart, uh, took all that stuff out and then. I remember very clearly how when the studio was completely empty, there was nothing in here.
There was nothing on the, on the walls. There was no blinds or anything. It was just an empty room, and it just felt at that moment, alright. That, that verse, whoever is a, in Christ, the new creation here, the old is gone, the new is here. And I was just thinking, all right, the new is here, right? Here we go.
Let’s do this. So we, we shampooed the carpet. We, we did all the things we needed to do, and then we started to paint. So, uh, Abby selected paint colors. Uh, I jumped in and started painting and as soon as I started, my wife looked up. She was like, you know, you gotta paint the ceiling too. And I’m like, talk on it.
So, uh, I had to paint the ceiling. Uh, and then, so we had these three walls, which is a beautiful, uh, uh, white. There’s a, a version of a white wall. And then behind me is you, is what you guys see is this black wall says a nice accent wall. And, and so the painting was done and then it came down to get desk.
So we had to, the desk was here. Uh, Adam had brought it over, so I had to get the desk moved from the garage and here, and lemme tell you what the. Is 29 and a half inches wide. Okay. So that, that’s, that’s the width between the, the doorframe. This desk was 30 and a half inches wide. So what we had to do is I took the top off the desk, I was able to get underneath it, take the top off, and I had my buddy Ethan.
Good. So if you guys go back, check out Ethan’s episode, he came over and he helped me move this. And it literally was touching on both sides as it as we pushed it through the door. So we, but we got it through, we got it through the door. Uh, praise your Lord, when that thing came through. And then we were able to set it up so we’re able to get the desk in.
Uh, we had a nice rug set down that, that Abby had selected and we, we centered a desk and had it, and had it. And I was feeling really good like it was starting to come together. You know, you can start singing, you know how it is on those projects. When they get to that point, you can really start seeing it come together.
So then Adam and Abby, they want to come over cuz they had everything else. You know, they had the, the, uh, the smart screen they had. The lights they had, uh, what you see behind me, this canvas with the line within us, these shells, all the decorative items, they had all that stuff. The, the, the, uh, the panels for the, the curtains, right?
Uh, so they had everything. So they came over and it was, uh, we, we planned out for one evening, so here I am, ready to jump in and let’s do this. They walk in, they said, all right, here’s the rule. Uh, you don’t get the help. Like what they’re like, We want to do this. So, uh, okay. So I sat out there with, with Judah and, and Lily with my wife and, and Adam and Abby.
And my, my, my oldest daughter, Chloe, uh, they, they went to work. And then while my, uh, middle daughter, Ava, she was outside shooting some hoops with Adam’s son, Joe. Uh, they were having some fun shooting and, and they were in here working and they were knocking it out. Uh, We had the big reveal, right? So they finished putting everything up and, uh, they brought me in, kind of made me cover my eyes, came in, and I was just blown away.
I mean, blown away. And again, if you, if you just listen to the, to the podcast, first of all, thank you. But if you wanna see it, go, go check out our YouTube channel. You can see what’s behind me, uh, just, just to have this type. Setup where now, uh, literally in front of me is our, our smart screen. So I can see everything when we’re recording with guests.
I can open those, the, the cabinets beside it, our lights, our panels, all that stuff is there. It’s just a very clean environment, right? The desk has nothing on it. So we, we, we hid all the cables, so there’s nothing on the desk, but, you know, a wireless keyboard, the microphone, the camera, that’s it. You know?
So the cool part is, you know, When all this was said and done, first of all, I couldn’t have done it without those, with, without, without Adam and Abby wouldn’t be here. It was, it was, I give them all the credit for just the, the wonderful work. Can’t thank them enough, love them, love their family. Uh, just good people.
Uh, but I can tell you one thing, you know, I, I started shifting up my morning routine. You know, you got, you know, most of you guys know I work out in the mornings. That’s when I. For our, my schedule that just seems to work the best. So I changed it up though. I was like, you know, I still wanna do my workout in the morning.
Uh, but I was, I was doing like some cardio and then I’d do strength training or some, or you know, I’d go for a bike ride and I would, I’d also do a run. I was usually doing two things. I said, you know what, I’m just gonna cut it down and just doing the bike. And then that second half, I’m gonna go spend some time in that studio digging into the.
And the, and the other workout, what I’ve started to do actually was maybe, maybe save this for another episode, is I’ve, I’ve shifted that to later and maybe, usually I’ve been doing it around lunchtime or in the afternoons, or even, even in evenings. But it gives me, so I’m not just doing all the workout all at once.
It gives me a chance, particularly someone who works from home, uh, to get out and be active throughout the day. So, uh, but it also gave. A solid 45 minutes to an hour every morning to get in the word. And that’s been incredible. And for, for me guys, that, you know, just to the mindset shift, the clarity where I can give God my best and this environment, I can sit down this desk, nothing’s on it.
Very intentional about this. So here’s how I do my morning routine. Now, uh, maybe this, this will help you. I. Copy of God’s word. This the Bible that I take to church. This is the Bible I take everywhere, right? This is just a standard, uh, uh, this is Thery study Bible. This is the n a SB version. Uh, so this is the Bible.
My wife actually gave me this Bible when we got married, so this is why this Bible is special to me. Then I also have, uh, a N I B version of a, a leadership bible. Uh, that, that is really cool. I have a study bible that that breaks down, uh, uh, the new Testa. So I have that out and then I have my Bible dictionary.
So I’m able to lay out in front of me every morning these four pieces of re uh, of materials and, and just focus. And I always start off with this prayer just thanking him and say, thank you, Lord, just for giving me this opportunity to spend this time with you. And I pray that through the Holy Spirit, you just revealed what you won’t show me this.
Okay. And that has, that has, has really transformed my daily quiet time where I’m able to sit down with him and just dig into the word. And, and when I started this, again, when I started this, I started it this in December of, of this year. So December, 2022, uh, I started reading Luke. And I’ve just found that, that just by having that quiet time, by having that clarity, I’m able to really dig in and understand a.
More of what I feel like God’s trying to tell me because I’m not in this constant chaos environment. Right. I mean, cuz literally before, you know, I would have room on my desk to open one book maybe, and maybe that had to be in my lap. And, but from there it, it was just, it was chaos. It was stuff everywhere, you know?
And as someone who struggled with anxiety and, and, and all these things in the past too, that just creates more and more stress. There was a post I saw. From Dr. John Deloney, he was talking about that and he was like, you know, if your environment look at it, you know, if, if you have, uh, 200 different password emails and you have all these different things going on, all these different triggers that create chaos, that’s gonna spin up anxiety.
So he’s right. I got to look and like my officers just calling the studio, the old workspace was just causing that. Right? It was causing that stress versus now I can. I can look here, I can feel good because at the end of the day when I, when I shut the computer down and everything’s off, uh, you know, I can walk outta here and there’s a piece for this room, and there, there’s a piece in this room now that just wasn’t there before.
And I really go back, uh, to that, to that rule. But I can tell you one thing that daily quiet time. I wasn’t trading for anything. I was telling my wife just yesterday actually about how I really want to think through more, just be more intentional about making sure I get that second workout in cuz it’s easy to miss that one.
But how this daily quiet time is not, is a non-negotiable. Like I, I, I’ve, now that I’ve experienced this, I can’t go back to where, uh, you know, I’m trying to just read my Bible, you know. Just on, on, in a chair somewhere or to, or, or at the kitchen table. You know, there, there’s apl that, that may work for you guys.
That may be the place where you read it at. But for me, I need to remove distractions. I need it to make it where I, you know, I don’t have anything that’s gonna be causing me to, to, to not focus. And I need quiet. And this, this room was able to do that. So, uh, I purposely don’t ever fire up my computer. Any of that stuff.
So when I, when I come in here, first thing in the mornings, uh, it’s literally is my bottle of order. And the Bibles, I have those out, and that has bring me a ton of peace, a ton of clarity, and that’s why I want to challenge you to think through your environment. And where you’re spending that time, you know how you’re spending it.
For one, that’s important. But, but where, you know, cause we often don’t think about that man. We just, we just go through and we just do things the way that they always been done. But that rule, I tell you, when he, when he rolled that one out and talked about, make one room in your house, beautiful. I would challenge you to, to consider that with where you spend your time with in, in the word, because if there’s, that’s one place.
You know, it, it may just be like a corner, right? Or something like that. A corner of a room doesn’t have to be an entire room. You don’t have to completely gut it the way I did it, right? Uh, you could, you could, you could take a, a different approach. So, uh, let’s take our last break, guys. I’ll be right back.
We’ll, and we’ll wrap this up.
Outside of God’s word, what should you be reading to grow as a Christian leader? It can be daunting to see all the options available these days. To help bring you some sanity to your search. So again, you may be thinking, you know what, Chris, this sounds great, but I don’t, I don’t have an entire room. Again, you can start small. It could be a closet. I mean, it, it talks about in, in scripture about going to, to sue your prayer closet, right? So you could be a closet, maybe it’s just a drawer. You just need to clean up a drawer and raise some glar and, and make that drawer a little bit neater or a cabinet or something to, to have a, to get started.
Start small and then move up from there. Right? Move up from there. Don’t feel like you have to go in and spend thousands upon thousands of dollars on this. I mean, you could start with, you know what? I just want to, uh, create, uh, put, put some new paint on the walls, a couple hundred bucks, and this new paint on the walls you may find really changes in your mindset.
You know, Jordan Peterson, in his book, he has talked about that, how he went through and he had all these, uh, big grandiose plan for his office he had at work, and he laid this out to his. His superiors, okay, here’s what I want to do. And they pushed back. They didn’t want to do it, so he had to come up with a plan B, which he’s, he’s obviously incredibly smart.
He had a plan B and we, and they approved the, the plan B, which essentially was paint on the walls. Right? Just changing that small change in your environment, how that can have a big impact. So maybe it’s just, it’s, it’s starting small like that. But the big thing is just try to make one. One area beautiful where you can feel good.
Maybe it’s some art, maybe it’s your children’s art that you wanna start showcasing and, and, and put different, like I’m looking at, at a piece of art right here that I call art, but it’s something my daughter did. My daughter Chloe, she, she drew a picture and it’s a picture of the old studio. So it has an old green screen in the background that has, uh, the way my desk used to have with the mic hooked.
It has the soundboard hooked up there. So all that stuff, she drew her picture. That’s a very special piece of art to me. So when you think art, it doesn’t have to be like, you know, like an actual from an artist. This could be from your children, you know, make that, make that important. Cause on the other side, there’s a little piece of art that they did at my, at Lilly’s daycare with her foot.
It makes it looks like a hammer. So it could be silly art like that, right? But to me, that’s. So, so make it beautiful. I’ll tell you another guy, another story here. So on my left hand side, uh, you won’t be able to see this here in a video, but there’s a picture of Don Nuts in his Barney Fife uniform. And that’s framed my, and my, my parents did that.
They framed it for me cuz I went to a, a, uh, an event. And this was back, ooh, this was back in the late nineties, uh, maybe early two thousands. I’m, I’m thinking late nineties. And there was an. And it was a, uh, Annie Griffith event, and the big prize was an autographed poster of, or autograph print of Don Knotz, uh, Barney Fife.
And I, I remember I, when I went, I didn’t have any money. , I was pretty broke and, uh, but the, the tickets were a dollar. I had $1 in my pocket. I gave him $1. I told the guy I’m gonna win that and I’m gonna win the, uh, poster of don us. And he kinda smiled like, Sure enough, when they called half the winter, it was your boy.
So I took the, uh, poster home. Uh, my parents, they put it in this professionally framed, so on my left hand side, I got, uh, Marty Fife looking at me. So there you go. So there’s, there’s a little piece of Chris you may not have known before, but, uh, the big thing is look, your, your art, whatever that is, whatever is, is beautiful to you, just go, just go with that.
Just focus on making one area be. And then think about, you know, the impact that that can have on your mindset. Cause I’m just here to tell you guys after, after being here for a few weeks now, it’s just, it’s a different feeling when you walk in and you can actually have that clarity to think. And if you don’t have that clarity to think, if you don’t have that clarity, To, to get in God’s word and to really not be distracted.
You’re gonna struggle. And you know, this is something that, that I’ve had to learn the hard way and I, I want, hopefully this, this helps you move forward. So, uh, think about that, you know, uh, one room in your house, what can you do to make that as beautiful as possible, you know? And then from. Move on to another.
Maybe you got one room done, make it two and then three. Just keep going and just think about the beauty that you can add. And then the last thing I want to remind to, to challenge you guys to think about, take this to your work. You know, maybe if you, wherever you work at, uh, for me, I happen to work from a homicide able to kind of kill two birds of one stone here.
But think about taking that to work, you know, your cubicle or maybe your office or maybe. Uh, out on a plant floor or maybe you’re, you’re driving a truck or, or you, you work outta your vehicle, whatever it is. All these different places, we find ourselves somewhere every day. So what can you do in that environment every day to make it a little more beautiful, to have a little more pride as you never know, that little steps that you start taking others may notice.
And next thing you know, we’re we’re, we’re having a little bit bigger impact than we ever imagined because, you know, You could have some time with the Lord at work as well, have that clarity, you know, build that into your process. Try it out, you know, and literally you have nothing to lose here with this one other than you know, it may make you feel better.
I can just tell you, for me personally, this was for a new year talking about the new creation that’s come. The old gone, the new was here for me, this studio project was really big and it’s really put me in a good place, uh, mentally to be able to go out and serve and create and do all the things that we want to do at the lion within us to help others.
That’s what it’s all about, helping others and serving others. Uh, and to do that now in a place where I feel. I’m not constantly worried about books falling on top of me . That’s pretty cool. So, uh, we were able to stay within our budget, by the way. That was a big deal. We were able to stay within our budget.
They did a wonderful job. And again, uh, just, just, just wanted to share this idea with you all as we go into the new year. So this, I know this is a little bit different episode this week, uh, but hopefully you got something out of it. Consider this one. You know, everybody’s got these New Year’s resolutions.
I. This is one that you could actually lean into and actually get, you know, make happen and be done with it, and then check that box off so it’s not one that you actually have to, uh, you know, keep doing like working out or something like that. But definitely encourage you to keep working out. But, uh, hopefully that, that gives you some inspiration there, guys, cuz the question I want you to think about this week, how does your environment affect your mindset?
An environment that has a big effect on your mindset. So it’s either pulling you down or building you up. I guys, I want you to build it up. So hopefully you, you found some encouragement here, some good ideas going into your new year. I can’t thank you enough. Come back cause we are gonna have a fun variety.

Everything came into focus after seeing Dr. Jordan Peterson in person when he reviewed one of his rules “Make one room in your home as beautiful as possible.” From there the story gets interesting and you’ll hear firsthand the steps taken to make the big transition.
As you listen be thinking about where in your home/apartment/dorm that you could focus on to make a change. The reasons why this is important are multifaceted and Chris reviews many in this episode. Bottom line is your environment allowing you to study and deepen your relationship with Christ or are the distractions constantly pulling at your attention. If you want to learn more this is for you!
