Welcome to the Lion Within Us, a podcast serving a Christian man who we’re hungry to be. The leaders got to tend you to be. I’m your host, chris Granger. Let’s jump in. All right, guys, looking forward to hanging out with you.
So this is part three of our Christmas specials. Okay, so again we talked about the predictions of Christ. Then we talked about the story the birth of Christ on Wednesday. Now today we’re going to be looking at the call to make him the Lord of our lives. So important, guys, so important.
So looking forward to spending some time with us in the scriptures, with you, today. Hopefully you’re enjoying the episodes. This week, again, it’s a little bit different, so we’re not going to have any tips today. We’re not going to have dad jokes or book of the week or anything like that for this episode. We’re just going to pull out some scriptures again. You could go all over the Bible and find scripture that you want that could apply to this, so I’m just going to pull it about. You know less than 10 different scripts or references I just want to share with you. Let the Holy Spirit, you know, speak to you directly and I just, hopefully, this year, enjoy this format. I’d love to hear from you as well. Again, you can email me, chris, at thelandwithmanus. We’ll love to hear from you directly. It’s always just a good to hear from people who listen, and just let me know how you know if this has been an encouragement to you this time of year.
Again, christmas is right around the corner now, so this is coming out on Friday. Christmas is coming out. It will be on Monday. So, yeah, you better get ready. If you’re not ready by now, you should be Okay. So we’re going to be together. Hopefully you got everything lined up all the presents, all that stuff, all your, your plans, maybe you got, you’re getting ready to go see family and things like that. So just encourage you just to use this time of year to let this time of year just be something special. Hopefully it’s not a stress for you and at least the time was in line with us. I hope this is a good stress relief for you. You know a lot of people listen to us while they work out and things like that, because I listen to podcast when I do that. So hopefully this will be a good one for you. You don’t you don’t want to run or something like that, or a walk that you’re out there, just join yourself, just to let the spirit, just to his, his word, just speak to you. Okay, so real quick, before we jump into it as well. Yeah, I’ve kind of talked about this a little bit on each episode this week, but we have our promotion going.
I just wanted to share with you one more time how important this, this is, particularly for you, know the minute that are listening right now, or for the ladies, the men that are in your life. This is just a great opportunity to join our community. It’s all online, so it’s a great way to listen. I always say it’s like a supplement, so a really good supplement, and we’re not replacing the local church, nor do we have any attention to, but we want to be a good supplement for Christian men to learn to grow, just to be there for each other.
We have a lots of great resources that we we have within the community. We have events all the time. We have couples night once a month we have asked me anything questions where you get to talk to people. We have Bible study once a week this always a great hit and then we have our daily spiritual kickoff. I try to give people a little boost to get their day started, just to help them be the leaders that God attends to be. So this is a great chance just to take advantage of it.
I put a ton of work and I do mean a ton of work into this community because I love it and I believe in it and I needed it. So that’s why we started. So it’s a great opportunity just to take advantage of the savings. We got counsel from our community members and they wanted to offer some savings and we thought this was a great one for this time of year to do it. So the guys are inside the community, they’re all in, they truly are, and we have mastermind groups in different ways. So I just encourage you to check it out.
I’m not really good at pitching things and do what I want to. I just want to share it. It’s helped me, it’s helped others. You think it could help you. If you’re curious about it, this is the time. That right now is the best time to take advantage of it. We’re going to take that promotion away here in January, so just if you don’t fence, reach out, let me know. If you have any questions, you can always reach out, let me know too. Okay.
So let’s see how he is Lord of our life. So we’re going to be going to start off, you know we’ll be all over the New Testament. We’ll start off in Galatians, okay, galatians four, and we’re going to just look at two verses, verses four and five. It says but when the fullness of the time came, god sent forth his son, born of a woman, born under the law, so that he might redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. You are a son or a daughter of the King Once you surrender to the Lordship of Christ. We see right here he is Lord. The fullness of time came. He sent his son for us All, that rescue mission for us. How beautiful is that For me? I need reminders like that a lot. I need them often. Okay, so now let’s let’s pop over to the book of John. So John, one love John.
One, by the way, in the beginning was the word. The word was with God, the word was a God. I mean, just hang on to them stuff right there. Let’s look at one verse, nine through. 14 says there was the true light which, coming into the world, enlightens every man. He was in the world and the world was made through him, and the world did not know him. He came to his own and those were his own did not receive him, but as many as received him to them he gave the right to become the children of God, even to those who believe in his name, who were born not a blood of the will of the flesh, nor the will of men, but of God. And the word became flesh and dwelt among us and we saw his glory. He has the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
You read verses like that in scripture, like that. It just rocks me back on my heels. This is who he is, the true life, the true light to enlighten us. And he made the world. I Don’t know. Sometimes we start thinking about the gospel. I don’t even know how to say it right here. The people did not receive them. Their people today, who were who you guys know it who reject him, who Absolutely reject him, who believed it. There’s some people don’t believe he was real at all, but there’s a lot of people just think he was just nice guy. No, they miss it. The word became fleshed, right among us, and we saw his glory, the glorious, the only God, from the father, full of grace and truth. That is the Lord. That is the Lord and Savior, jesus Christ, that we serve. Don’t diminish that, don’t, don’t, don’t, don’t lose your reverence of who he is. There’s lots of scenes around your time here with little baby Jesus and things like that. That’s just great Right. But that little baby was on a rescue mission. He grew up, he paid a penalty for our sins on the cross. He is the path to salvation.
We’ll look at some other verses as we continue to go here today. Tell you, guys, scripture like this so important. Now let’s jump over to John 14. Let’s look at just one verse here. John 14 6. He says right here, because Thomas is saying Lord. Right before that says Thomas Lord, do we not know? Or do we not know where you were going? How do we know the way? And Jesus says, right here, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the father but through me.
Guys, if you don’t surrender to the Lordship of Christ, there is no other way. There is no other way. You can’t nice your way in, you can’t be a good guy. You can’t help all ladies cross the street, you can’t give the charity. You can’t read your Bible, you can’t pray, you can’t go to church. What else? I mean all these things right, get baptized Unless you surrender your life to him, and I mean truly surrender your life to him. He is the only way. He is the truth, he is the life. You’re not gonna get to the father, you’re not gonna get the glory, get the heaven, except through him.
Don’t miss that part of this Christmas season, guys. There’s so much out there. Particularly there’s some churches who are not Bible preach, the churches. I’m telling you, be careful, right, there is no other path. Oprah’s wrong. The only path, path there is through Jesus, surrendering to the Lordship of Christ. I just pray that it’s, that’s that you remember that, because it can be very easy with it, with the deception that’s out there, those these days to get tripped up, and not intentionally, but just to get tripped up. No one intentionally says you know what I’m gonna screw up today? Oh, it doesn’t happen. I’m telling you the evil one still kill, destroy. Remember that. Okay. So now let’s pop over to first John. First John. We’re gonna look here at five, chapter one, verses five through nine.
Okay, so says right here this is the message that we have heard from him and announced to you that God is light and in him there is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him and yet walking in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus, his son, cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous To forgive us our sins and to clean us from all the righteousness. If we say that we have not sin, you, we make him a liar and his word Is not in us.
So, guys, I’m here to tell you Start thinking about this right here, god is light. If you’re struggling right now in the darkness, I am so sorry. The only comfort I can give you is exposure to the light. Get it out there, bring it to him, let him God and direct you. Let him be the one who who gives you that wisdom and discernment to move forward. Because right here, verse 8 if you think that you have no sin receiving yourselves, we just are.
We all fall short of the glory of God. We know we do. You’re compared to some people, maybe compared to prisoners and things like that yeah, we may be doing okay, but compared to a holy and righteous God, we just fall short. Fellas, I’m so sorry to have me, if you, if you’ve never heard that before, be the one that tells you that. We cannot deny this, we cannot say that you know we have no sin. But the truth is not. Even if you say that you have to confess it. You have to confess it right here. He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and then cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
So, whatever that thing is in the past that you feel like to defines you, you’re wrong. Who doesn’t define you felt the guys. I’m just telling you it’s wrong. It’s not true. The evil one has got the wool of your eyes, it’s. Don’t believe him, don’t listen to him for a second. You’re not defined by that, no way. Confess those sins, this all white, clean everything, and he will guide and direct you. He is the light and that sand can keep. It could be so dark, be so hard to get out of the door and I don’t know. But you guys? But I don’t like the dark. I don’t like dark rooms. That’s where I stump my toe. So dark rooms, turn the light on. It’s so easy to turn it on Right here. It tells us to confess our sins. He is faithful and righteous to forgive and cleanse us and us from all unrighteousness. So, guys, just let that type of scripture just soak in to you.
Okay, now let’s go over to Philippians. Let’s just look again. We’re talking about making him the Lord of our life this Christmas season. Let’s make him the Lord of our life In Philippians, chapter 2, we’re just going to look at a couple verses here, 8 through 11. So we see being found in appearance as a man. He humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Well, this reason also, god highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name which is above every other name, so the name of Jesus, every name, every name will bow, and those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God, the Father. Guys, you have a choice At some point. You’re either going to confess him or you’re going to confess him. I’m telling you he is Lord.
And what we see right here was he was found in appearance as a man. He came on that rescue mission for us as a man, humbling himself. He was in heaven being worshiped, but yet decided for us, because he loves us, to come as a man. And then what did he do? To the point of death, even death on a cross, the worst type of death you could die right, crucifixion, and highly what he did that. And when he did, god exalted him and now he is the name of that above every other name. Fellas, there is no other name, like you.
We’re getting ready to read one more verse here in a second that’s going to point us to that. And we see that every knee is going to bow. Every knee is going to bow. You know, I hear people all the time. Well, I get to have him. I’m going to ask Jesus, I’m going to ask God that I’m like no, you’re not. You just go bow down, bro. Just go bow down and worship him. That’s all you’ll be able to do. You’re not going to worry about any of this other stuff, because you’re just going to want to be with him.
And it says right here, right here, in Acts 412. And there is salvation and no one else. There is no other name, other heaven that’s been given among men, by which we must be saved. Fellas, I’m here to tell you that is the only name that matters. He is it. He is the only name, he is the name that’s been given that we must, that we must profess.
If you have not professed Lord Jesus as your Lord of your life, what are you waiting on? This time of year is a great time just to lean in, just to say you know what, lord, I can’t do this anymore. I can’t do it my way. We see right here, between Philippians and Acts, that he is the name above all names. Every knee is going to bow and I pray that, when your time comes, that you stand in front of him, that he looks upon you and says well done, good and faithful servant. But he’s not going to do that until you confess him as Lord of your life. So I beg you, I plead you, I urge you just to think about this, to pray about it and if you consider, maybe there’s a different way than the way that you’ve been doing it, particularly, if you guys are, if you’re listening to this. You’re not a believer. You’re here for a reason I’m not sure why, but the Holy Spirit has you here, so keep listening.
Now let’s look at Romans. We’re going to wrap up with Romans. Today. We’ll look at two sections of Romans, romans 10. Okay, we’re going to see right here. I got to get my glasses right again, so sorry about that, but this happens when you have birthdays. This right here.
Verse nine that if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God has raised you from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. For the scripture says whoever believes in him will not be disappointed. But there’s no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord is Lord above all, abounding and riches for all who come to him. For whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. That’s what you have to do. You have to call on the name of the Lord and he will be saved. That means you have to do something right. You can’t just sit on sidelines. You can’t outsource this, fellas. You have to do it yourself. You have to do it yourself. And if you take that step, fellas, you confess him as Lord. He is going to hear you right. What does it say right here? It tells us confess him with Lord, believe in your heart that he’s raised from the dead, you’ll be saved. The heart of person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. Salvation can’t be found by his grace. You got to take action. Why should you do it?
It was Romans 1513 says says right here, now, may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace and believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Fellas, hope is all we have on this side of heaven. You’re not going to need hope when you get to have it, because you can be there, but you can hope in something greater here. And I’m telling you, if you’re just hoping in your circumstances, if you’re just hoping in your bank account, on your marriage or all your business card, your title, all the things that your education, that hope’s just going to leave you empty. But it really is Hope. It’s up to greater. The God of hope will fill you with joy and peace. Do you need some joy and peace this time of year? I sure do. They got that right. So you abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
I’m telling you, joy and peace, those things are just rare commodities. People chase happy, happy, happy, happy. They’re missing it. I’d rather have joy in my life, in peace, in any circumstance, or happiness that this earth can ever give me. And you know what I found joy in the valleys Lost, losing our daughter.
I have found some ways to find joy in that. Primarily it’s been interesting to others and helping others come through it come, you know, recognizing God’s hand. But I found joy in that. Am I happy about it? Absolutely not. I should have a three-year-old bread and Christmas tree as well, but I don’t. Do you know what? I’m not going to be bitter, trust him, because her Christmas in heaven needs anything we’ll have here.
So I don’t know what circumstances you’re going through, I don’t know where you’re at in your spiritual journey, but I do know this God loves you. He loves you so much he sent his son for you. For you there’s a path to salvation. We went to a bunch of scriptures here to show you what that is, what that looks like, the action you need to take. So I pray that, as we finish this little podcast that can make such a tremendous impact on your life if you are immediate and you allow it. So if you are, you’ve listened to all this stuff.
Talked about sin and Jesus being on the way and you need to confess him with your mouth. This is what you need to do. You need to admit your sinner, you need to understand that he is the Son of God and you need to confess him as Lord of your life. I pray you take action right now. Let’s pray together.
It’s a father for that listener who’s out there and they’re just ready. They’re ready to surrender Lord. They’re ready to confess you as Lord of their life. They know they’ve done a lot of things wrong. You know what. They’re going to continue to do things wrong, but one thing they’re going to get right is giving their heart to you.
I pray to Lord that you just hear their prayer, hear their cries, hear their tears that are falling right now, lord, that you just be with them. Give them comfort, give them just joy, peace, put people in their life. That’s going to help God direct them. Father, I just pray right now that the Holy Spirit will just come. We’ll comfort them. We’ll give them wisdom and discernment to move forward. I do pray just special heads of protection around them as they’re making this profession of faith, as they’re moving forward. I pray, god, that you just guide them, direct them and just help them in their journey in Jesus’ name, amen.
All right, so you just accept the Christ as your Savior. What a great Christmas present, right? So again, I want you to email me, chris at the lion with the end of the US, okay, I’m going to send you a bunch of free resources. I want to find out where you’re at as well, so I can try to help you get plugged into a local gospel preaching, bible believing church. Is this really? This is so important that we get plugged into the right local body. And then I just want to just give you a virtual fist bump, maybe pray with you. That’d be awesome. So just let me know. Again, you can email me there directly.
So it’s a quick recap of the scriptures we went through today, guys. Okay, and we’ll try to have these in the show notes. I can’t guarantee it because there’s just a lot of things going on but you can write these down. Galatians 4, 4 through 5. John we did two sections. We did John 1, 9 through 14. And then we did John 14, 6, okay. Then we went to 1 John and we read chapter 1, 5 through 9. Then we did Philippians 2, 8 through 11. Then we do an Acts 4, 12, because you got to an Acts 4, 12. Then we went to the book of Romans. We looked at chapter 10, 9 through 13. And Romans 15, 13, okay. So again, they’re your scripture references. You can always use those. Use the scripture references if you want to.
And then we’ve given you all week. Just lay it out with your family. You sit down and have a really good family devotion to study time. Make it a sword drill, you know, and fire it off for what you kids and see. Okay, who can find Philippians? Okay, who can find 1 John? Have some fun with it. It’s a great way to dig into the word together, okay. So we really hope you guys have enjoyed this week.
Again, take advantage of the promotion we have running right now. We’d love for you guys to jump on that. People have questions about what the community is. If you want just a demo, email me, chris. At the light within that US. We’ll jump on on a quick zoom. I’ll show you what it looks like, give you any answer, any questions that you may have. At the end of it I’d just like to pray with you. So that’s what it’s all about really just loving all others and praying with others. So I do hope you know, as we get ready to wrap this up, I do hope you guys have a great Christmas.
I do hope that you’re able to take the time this year and reflect more, not what’s under the tree, but who’s around the tree, and I know for this time of year, a lot. For lots of us there are people who are missing around the tree and I just want to give a special, you know, just recognition to two of my brothers in Christ, steve and Trey, who you know they have. There were missing people around the tree and I love those two guys more than I can. They’re part of my encyclopedia group, just really good friends. Steve has been on the show guys before and I just.
I know there is lots of listeners out there who Christmas is a tough time of year. It really is. So that’s why I encourage you just get into the word. Just let the word help you, just help. Let the word discomfort you bring you that peace that passes all understanding. There’s nothing I can say that’s going to take away any of your hurt. I promise that. But the Holy Spirit can. Holy Spirit can. If you just give it to him, he’ll put people in your path. Maybe I’m one of them, maybe I’m a vessel that will help us bring you a little bit of courage, and I’m hopefully this.
This episode this week brought you some encouragement. We thought it was important to line it just to make sure we’re very intentional by giving him all the glory and not trying to muscle our way around. There’s all sorts of ways where you can try to. Well, maybe just don’t want to do anything. No one’s going to listen to podcasts this close to Christmas anyway. Well, you’re right, they may not, but that one person listens to the lion within us this week and here’s a little bit of scripture that helps them grow a little bit closer to accept it.
Christ, this is worth it. The preparation time that was to get ready to do these episodes is worth it. The time that I will put into to editing the episodes, efforts worked at the time that we think the Senate of Honor website to promote everything out is worth it. It’s all worth it if we reach one person for him. I fully believe that. So hopefully you guys enjoy it. Share it out with others. Give us a rating and review. That would definitely help you can.
You can head over to the lion within that US. Have all our resources there. So that’s the lion within that US. The? U version Bible app. Lots of our deep devotions are out there. Take advantage of the community’s promotion pricing. Right now we have our summit.
It’s if you were, if you’re really interested in making January that kickstart your career to really get around some, some like mind and Christian men, to find out how you could take this, this, this God’s word right here and a plot to your life, particularly your business. That’s what it’s all about. Fellows, I miss you to tell you so we’ll love to answer any questions you guys have on that. Do pray that you have a wonderful Christmas for my family, for my wife, for my work, for our kids from the farm. We wish you just a very merry and happy Christmas. Hopefully you guys have a wonderful celebrate the birth of our savior. So that’s what it’s all about.
Ok, all right, guys, a comeback. Good little will be here next week. We’re going to do what. I’m not sure if we’re going to release on Christmas Day or not. We may do like a Tuesday spiritual kickoff and modified from there, but we will have some stuff for New Year’s coming up next week, so I’ll be on the lookout for that. We won’t have guests again. I will do some solo stuff. I’ll try to save our guests for weeks for people or not on vacation as much and things like that, but I want to please try to share a message with you next week, so hopefully you guys will get a chance to check that out. Ok, so love to hear from you.
Merry Christmas and remember, keep unleashing the lion with it. If you’re a man who is looking for greater spiritual guidance into how to be a better leader, finding resources that you can trust, never mind implementing, can be daunting. For me personally, I thought it was a lost cause, so I decided to take action because I knew that I couldn’t be alone. That’s why we created the lion within this community, and the areas that we’re helping other Christian men grow in are incredible. For instance, we built easy ways for guys to lean in and grow through fun events like our daily spiritual kickoff, where you’ll get that much needed boost directly from God’s Word. Our Bible studies that focuses on how to simplify and apply God’s Word to our life, and even our amazing forum where you can speak your mind without fear of getting shut down or judged by the extreme rules of modern day social media. On top of all that, we knew that many men won’t help overcoming issues and becoming stronger in many different areas. That’s why we created semester mind groups where their iron truly sharpens to iron.
Really, our community is all about having a growth mindset. It’s about accountability, intentionality and transparency. In other words, just leave Fakie at home and come into the community just as you are. I fully believe in what we’ve built. I see the impact that it’s making on men every day and I would love to have you check it out. We’re offering a great deal through this holiday season, and now is by far the best time to take advantage and see how it can help you be a better leader, husband and father. So, if you’re ready, head over to the lionwithinus and get started. Your journey begins now. The end is the lionwithinus and I’ll see you inside the den.
Get ready as we dive deeper into the crucial act of surrendering to Christ’s Lordship. Let’s shed light on the singular path to salvation through Jesus and the need to be aware of false teachings. The power of confession, seeking forgiveness, and the transformative power of God’s mercy are not aspects to be overlooked. As we experience the depth of Jesus’ humility and sacrifice, we stand strong in the knowledge that one day, every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.
Our final discussion will be about the essence of salvation and the role of confessing Jesus as Lord. Through dissecting scriptures like John 3:16 and Romans 10, we aim to emphasize the importance of calling upon the name of the Lord for salvation. Engage with us as we explore the power of hope through the Holy Spirit and offer a prayer for those ready to surrender their lives to Christ. Remember, salvation is a journey and we are here to guide and support you every step of the way.
